Former Special Adviser to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, has recalled an encounter with former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, shortly after his appointment in 2016.

Speaking in an interview, Ojudu said he visited Lawal’s office to formally report to him following his appointment. According to him, despite their longstanding friendship, Lawal objected to him sitting in his office and reminded him of his position as SGF.

Ojudu said Lawal told him, “Get up, who do you think you are? We are friends, but I am now your boss. You can’t come to my office and sit down.”

The former presidential aide said he immediately left the office and never returned to see Lawal again, describing the incident as a defining moment in their professional relationship.
