The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2026 Osun State election, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has declared that he remains the only candidate enjoying the backing and endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the August 15 governorship poll.

Oyebamiji made the declaration amid growing political discussions over the President’s preferred candidate for the election. He insisted that President Tinubu’s support remains firmly with him and the APC, dismissing contrary claims and emphasizing that the party is united behind his candidacy.

The APC candidate noted that he has maintained close consultations with the President and key party stakeholders as preparations intensify for the election. He expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious, citing the support of the APC leadership and grassroots structures across the state.

Oyebamiji emerged as the APC flagbearer after securing the party’s ticket through a process that saw several aspirants withdraw from the race and rally behind him. The development was widely viewed as a demonstration of party unity ahead of the governorship contest.

With campaigns gathering momentum across Osun State, Oyebamiji has continued to present himself as the candidate best positioned to lead the APC to victory, pledging to deliver development and prosperity for the people of the state if elected governor.
