President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Chief Sade Ogunbiyi, the Iyalode of Remoland and wife of renowned academic, journalist and entrepreneur, Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi, on her 80th birthday.

In a statement marking the occasion, the President praised Mrs Ogunbiyi for her significant contributions to Nigeria’s education sector, public service, and community development, describing her life as a testament to dedication, excellence and continuous self-improvement.

Tinubu noted that Mrs Ogunbiyi built an outstanding career in education and administration, having earned a degree from the University of Ibadan and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. She taught English and Social Studies in Nigeria and the United States before serving for a decade as Chief Personnel and Administrative Officer at the University of Ile-Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University.

The President also highlighted her successful career in the banking and corporate sectors, where she served as a Senior Manager at NAL Merchant Bank and later as Deputy Managing Director of Signal Health Nigeria Limited.

According to the President, Mrs Ogunbiyi’s strong Christian upbringing shaped her lifelong commitment to faith, service and community development. He also commended her leadership role as Iyalode of Remoland, a position she assumed following the death of the late Chief HID Awolowo.

Tinubu said Mrs Ogunbiyi’s remarkable journey demonstrated that despite her devotion to family life, she consistently pursued academic and professional growth, building a distinguished career across education, administration, banking and business.

The President wished her many more years of good health, happiness and fulfilment alongside her husband, Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi.
