
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria’s solidarity with Gulf countries affected by tensions arising from the US–Israel–Iran conflict, pledging continued support for peace and stability.
Speaking at the State House in Abuja during the presentation of Letters of Credence by newly appointed envoys, the President commended the resilience and restraint shown by the affected nations.
He stated that Nigeria stands firmly with countries in the Gulf region, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan, emphasising the need for global tranquillity, peace and cooperation.
President Tinubu noted that Nigeria remains committed to strengthening diplomatic ties and fostering international collaboration for mutual development and security. He urged the envoys to convey Nigeria’s goodwill to their respective heads of state while reaffirming the country’s openness to strategic partnerships.
The President highlighted ongoing economic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a competitive hub for investment, innovation and sustainable growth, encouraging the diplomats to explore opportunities across various sectors.
He also reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to regional stability through the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), stressing the importance of collective efforts in promoting constitutional order, economic integration and security in West Africa and the Sahel.
President Tinubu assured the envoys of full cooperation from the Federal Government, directing relevant ministries and agencies to support their diplomatic missions.
Responding on behalf of the envoys, Qatar’s ambassador expressed appreciation for the reception and pledged to strengthen bilateral relations between their respective countries and Nigeria.
