Tinubu Returns to Lagos After Diplomatic Tour of Three Countries

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Lagos following official visits to France, Kenya, and Rwanda, where he held a series of diplomatic and economic engagements with world leaders, investors, and multilateral institutions.

He arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, at about 7:12 pm on Friday and was received by top government officials, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa, alongside other dignitaries.

The President’s engagements in France focused on discussions with global investors, where he highlighted ongoing economic reforms, stressing transparency, fiscal discipline, and the need for swift implementation of policy measures aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economy.

In Kenya, Tinubu participated in the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, co-hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto. He used the platform to advocate for reforms in the global financial system and deeper economic integration across Africa.

He also underscored Nigeria’s growing blue economy potential and expressed readiness to support Gulf of Guinea nations through shared maritime intelligence infrastructure.

While in Nairobi, the President held a bilateral meeting with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina.

In Kigali, Rwanda, he joined other African leaders and global business executives at the Africa CEO Forum, where discussions centered on accelerating Africa’s economic transformation through regional cooperation, investment expansion, and shared scale.

He also held talks with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and engaged representatives of institutions including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), APM Terminals, and the Winme Group, with the engagements reportedly yielding positive outcomes.

Tinubu also participated in panel discussions where he presented aspects of his administration’s economic reform agenda to an international audience.

The President is expected to remain in Lagos for the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections scheduled to begin on Saturday.

Ahead of the exercise, he urged party members to maintain peace and conduct themselves with discipline and sportsmanship in the interest of the party and the country.
