



Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Freetown, Sierra Leone, where he will represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government.
The summit will bring together leaders of member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to deliberate on key regional issues, including political stability, security, economic integration and sustainable development across West Africa.
President Tinubu, who currently serves as a leading voice within the regional bloc, delegated Vice President Shettima to represent Nigeria at the high-level meeting.
The summit is expected to review developments within the ECOWAS region and consider strategies for strengthening regional cooperation, promoting peace and security, and advancing economic growth among member states.
Nigeria is expected to reaffirm its commitment to regional integration and collective efforts aimed at addressing common challenges facing the West African sub-region.
