The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has dismissed reports alleging that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was forced out of the party’s governorship primary.

Yilwatda clarified that Fubara was duly screened and cleared by the APC screening committee before the primaries, stressing that there was no record of any forced withdrawal or exclusion from the process.

According to him, the party followed due process in its screening exercise and all aspirants were treated in line with APC guidelines.

The clarification comes amid circulating claims suggesting that the Rivers State governor was pressured or compelled to step aside during the primary process.

However, the APC leadership maintained that such claims are inaccurate, insisting that the screening committee acted transparently and independently in its assessment of all aspirants.

Fubara’s participation in the APC political process has continued to attract attention, especially following ongoing political realignments in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party urged the public to disregard misinformation and rely on official communications regarding its internal electoral procedures.
