Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has made a sensational return to the national team as Nigeria gears up for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) released the official squad list on Tuesday, marking Musa’s first call-up since the Super Eagles’ silver-winning campaign at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.
Newly appointed head coach Eric Chelle has also included in-form Genk striker Tolu Arokodare, who has been in blistering form in the Belgian Jupiler League, netting 15 goals this season.
Fresh Faces and Key Returns
Arokodare is among four new additions to the squad, joining Anthony Dennis (FC Göztepe), Papa Daniel Mustapha (formerly of Niger Tornadoes), and Slavia Prague’s Igoh Ogbu.
The squad also welcomes back Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole and Southampton forward Paul Onuachu, as Nigeria looks to revive its qualification campaign.
Super Eagles’ Path to Qualification
Currently sitting fifth in Group C, Nigeria will face Rwanda in Kigali on March 21 before hosting Zimbabwe in Uyo on March 25.
