The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has endorsed Barr. Omosede Igbinedion and Hon. Joe Ikpea as its consensus candidates for the upcoming byelections scheduled for August 16.

Barr. Omosede Igbinedion was selected to fly the party’s flag for the Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Her candidacy was unanimously approved by the APC State Working Committee following broad consultations with party stakeholders.

Similarly, Hon. Joe Ikpea was adopted as the consensus candidate for the Edo Central Senatorial District. Both candidates were chosen as part of a strategic move to present a united front and strengthen the party’s chances in the elections.

While some other aspirants such as Oscar Aghedo and Glory Momodu had picked up nomination forms to contest in the primaries, the party maintained its position on fielding Igbinedion and Ikpea, citing their experience, popularity, and broad acceptability within the party.

The APC leadership expressed confidence that the endorsed candidates would deliver victory and further consolidate the party’s presence in Edo State.
