Senate President Godswill Akpabio has accused some media organisations, particularly Arise News, of misrepresenting his comments and statements.
Speaking during a recent engagement, Akpabio said he has stopped watching television because many reports attributed to him do not accurately reflect what he actually said.
The Senate President expressed concern over what he described as persistent misquotation and distortion of his remarks in sections of the media.
According to him, inaccurate reporting has contributed to public misunderstanding of his positions on key national issues.
Akpabio urged media organisations to uphold the principles of accuracy, fairness, and professionalism in their reporting, stressing the importance of presenting public statements in their proper context.
His comments add to ongoing conversations about media responsibility and the need for accurate reporting in Nigeria’s political and public affairs space.
