Chairman-elect of Ikoyi-Obalende Visits Finance Minister Wale Edun, Pledges Grassroots Collaboration on Tinubu’s Economic Agenda

The Chairman-elect of Ikoyi/Obalende Local Government Area, Bola Oladunjoye, has paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, at his office in Abuja. The visit, which included a delegation from the local council, was aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope economic reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mr. Oladunjoye congratulated the Minister for the bold fiscal and economic strategies being implemented and expressed the council’s readiness to align with national objectives, particularly in driving financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and local economic development. He emphasized the need for closer collaboration between local governments and the Federal Ministry of Finance in areas such as revenue generation, infrastructure support, and job creation.

In his remarks, the Minister commended the chairman-elect for his proactive leadership and reaffirmed the Tinubu administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and local government empowerment. He stressed that successful implementation of economic reforms requires buy-in at all levels of government, from the grassroots to the national level.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to explore further partnerships that will bring tangible benefits to residents of Ikoyi/Obalende and contribute to the broader goals of economic transformation across Nigeria.
