World champion hurdler Tobi Amusan has secured her fifth national title after a commanding performance in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2025 Nigerian Athletics Championships in Lagos. The 27-year-old sprinted to victory in front of an ecstatic home crowd, further cementing her status as one of Nigeria’s most decorated athletes.

Amusan, who holds the world record in the event, dominated the race from start to finish, leaving her rivals trailing as she crossed the line with ease. Her latest win adds to her growing list of national and international achievements, showcasing her consistency and dominance on the track.

The Ogun State-born star, a 2022 World Championships gold medallist, expressed delight at winning on home soil and hinted that the victory would serve as a strong morale boost ahead of upcoming international competitions. “There’s no better feeling than running and winning in front of your people,” she said.
