The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment through a strategic engagement with a high-level delegation from Jigawa State, held at the Council’s headquarters in Abuja.
Led by NADDC Director-General Mr. Oluwemimo Osanipin, the meeting focused on fostering structured collaboration to scale up automotive skills among young people in Jigawa State. The aim is to drive job creation, stimulate innovation, and prepare the local workforce for active participation in Nigeria’s evolving automotive sector.
Mr. Osanipin reiterated NADDC’s dedication to expanding access to technical and vocational training nationwide, stressing that partnerships with sub-national governments are essential to bridging the skills gap and promoting local content across the value chain.
“This partnership is about equipping the youth of Jigawa with the technical expertise to thrive in a modern, technology-driven economy. We are investing in the future of mobility and national development,” he said.
The Jigawa delegation expressed a strong commitment to establishing NADDC-aligned training centres in the state, integrating automotive education into youth development plans, and fostering entrepreneurship in the automotive value chain.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to accelerate the design and implementation of joint initiatives. These projects are expected to drive inclusive growth, reduce unemployment, and position Jigawa as a regional leader in automotive innovation and skills development in Northern Nigeria.
