Inter Milan have fixed their maximum offer for Nigeria international Ademola Lookman at €50m, including bonuses, as they push to land their top summer target. Napoli and Arsenal also remain interested in the Atalanta forward.
The Nerazzurri have been in pursuit of the 27-year-old for weeks but have failed to reach an agreement with Atalanta, who are unwilling to sell one of their key players to a direct Serie A rival. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s proposal of €45m including bonuses has already been rejected, with La Dea insisting on their full €50m valuation.
Frustrated by the stalemate, Lookman accused Atalanta on social media of breaking promises and treating him poorly, claiming there was an agreement allowing him to leave this summer if a suitable offer arrived. Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi later clarified that such a deal only applies to “top” clubs outside Italy.
The dispute escalated after Lookman refused to report for training, prompting Atalanta to consider legal action for his unauthorised absence. Talks between the clubs have since stalled.
Napoli, who previously viewed Lookman as a possible replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, could revive their interest if Inter back away. Arsenal have also made a £45m bid, but Sportal reports the offer was turned down by Lookman, who wants to remain in Italy. Personal terms with Inter are already understood to be agreed, meaning a deal could move quickly if the Milan side meet Atalanta’s asking price.
