
Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, joined Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, at the inaugural National Steel Summit in Abuja. The event brought together key policymakers and industry leaders to chart a new course for the revival of Nigeria’s steel industry, with a focus on sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
Also present were Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, and Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, who underscored the administration’s commitment to leveraging the steel sector as a catalyst for industrialisation, job creation, and economic diversification.
The summit highlighted strategic plans to modernise steel production, attract foreign investment, and strengthen value chains across related industries. Stakeholders emphasised that a vibrant steel industry is central to achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda’s vision for infrastructure development and technological advancement in Nigeria.
