Ademola Lookman has rejoined Atalanta training after his failed transfer to Inter Milan, even as his representatives continue to explore Premier League options, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
According to TBR Football, the Nigerian international’s camp has held talks with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Aston Villa in recent days in a bid to secure a move away from Bergamo.
The 27-year-old had forced the issue with a two-week training boycott after Atalanta refused to sanction a switch to Inter, but returned to the club’s Zingonia base following the collapse of negotiations. Inter formally withdrew their interest earlier this week, ending weeks of tense discussions.
“TBR Football” chief correspondent Graeme Bailey revealed that Lookman remains disappointed by the collapse of his San Siro dream. “His head was in Milan and he even put in a transfer request, which is quite rare nowadays. But his people are now assessing alternatives, and there are big clubs in England who are interested,” Bailey said.
He noted that Tottenham’s move for Savinho has stalled, Arsenal are still searching for a new left winger, Chelsea have not finalised their Garnacho pursuit, while City and Villa may also enter the market.
Atalanta are reportedly holding out for £45m for Lookman, who former manager Gian Piero Gasperini once hailed as “an extraordinary player, among the best in Europe and the world.”
Despite his importance, the club is set to fine him and dock wages for the days he skipped training, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. Head coach Ivan Juric is also said to be wary of losing more attacking firepower following the sale of top scorer Mateo Retegui.
