The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered British Airways to pay ₦53 million to a Nigerian passenger, Mr. Stephen Osho, for the loss of his luggage and unfair treatment.

Justice Ibrahim Kala awarded ₦50 million in damages and ₦3 million in legal costs after finding the airline liable for failing to deliver Osho’s bag on Flight BA307 from Paris to London in December 2022.

The court rejected British Airways’ defense blaming an old Air France tag, ruling it a weak attempt to evade responsibility under the Montreal Convention.
