Sean Diddy Combs was handed a federal prison sentence of 50 months on Friday for prostitution transportation, much longer than the 14 months his defense requested but far less than the 11 years prosecutors sought. Along with the prison term, Diddy must pay a $500,000 fine to help cover incarceration costs, though the judge did not order restitution.

During the sentencing hearing, which lasted several hours, Judge Arun Subramanian acknowledged the courage of the survivors who shared their harrowing experiences, stating, “We heard you.” Prosecutors condemned Diddy for scheduling a public speaking event in Miami shortly after the proceedings, contrasting with the defense’s emotional appeals and character witnesses, including a video shown of Diddy with his children.

In a final courtroom moment, Diddy apologized directly to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, addressing the emotional toll of the case. The ruling marks a significant legal chapter for the music mogul amid a highly publicized trial.
