Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully neutralised nine terrorists and rescued two hostages in separate operations carried out in Magumeri and Gajiram areas of Borno State. The operations, which also led to the recovery of several weapons and ransom money, underscore the growing effectiveness of Nigeria’s counter-insurgency efforts and the improved coordination among security agencies.

This success is widely seen as part of the broader impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed security strategy, which prioritises proactive intelligence gathering, inter-agency collaboration, and rapid tactical response. Under his administration, the military has intensified operations across the North East, achieving notable results in the ongoing campaign against terrorism and banditry.
Security officials confirmed that the troops acted on credible intelligence, leading to a swift engagement that resulted in the elimination of the terrorists and safe rescue of the hostages. The recovered arms, ammunition, and cash are believed to have been used to fund terrorist activities in the region.
The latest victory adds to the series of successful operations recorded across various theatres nationwide, reflecting the Federal Government’s determination to restore peace and stability. It also highlights President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture, ensuring that every part of the country benefits from the renewed sense of safety and national cohesion.
