The Federal Government of Nigeria has formally deployed four skilled volunteers to the Republic of Sierra Leone under the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (TAC) scheme.
According to a statement by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the team comprises two Professors, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) holder, and a Master’s degree holder, with expertise in the fields of law, medicine, and science.
Ebienfa noted that the deployment is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations with sister nations across Africa and the Caribbean, as part of his broader vision for South-South cooperation.
The volunteers will be integrated into various institutions in Sierra Leone to contribute their expertise toward enhancing human capacity and capital development.
The Federal Government also expressed appreciation to the Government of Sierra Leone for the warm reception accorded to the volunteers, describing the initiative as a reflection of Nigeria’s belief in collective prosperity and shared destiny among African and Caribbean nations.
The statement reaffirmed Nigeria’s resolve to continue exploring new avenues of international collaboration aimed at achieving mutual development and regional growth.
