Abuja, Nigeria — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that its next national convention will take place on March 25, 2026, as part of preparations to strengthen the party’s internal structure ahead of future elections.
According to a statement from the party’s National Secretariat, the APC will first conduct ward, local government, and state congresses across the country in December 2025 to elect new officers who will form the delegate base for the national convention.
The decision was reached following consultations between the party’s leadership, governors, and key stakeholders aimed at ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and unity within the ruling party.
A member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the timetable reflects APC’s commitment to internal democracy and leadership renewal in accordance with its constitution.
The national convention is expected to produce a new National Working Committee that will steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
Party members and supporters across the country have been urged to participate actively in the congresses and uphold the principles of fair play and discipline that define the APC.
