Nigeria is preparing to host a record-breaking cultural and culinary experience as the Nigerian Institute for Hospitality, Tourism Operators and Regulators announces the launch of its flagship gastronomy festival, “ORIKI” — a celebration of Nigeria’s rich culinary heritage, royal traditions, and cultural sustainability.
The festival, themed “Taste of Culture: A Royal Banquet Experience,” is scheduled to take place on December 6, 2025, at the Eagle Square, Abuja, and will feature a Guinness World Record attempt for the longest dining table. The event aims to bring together more than 3,000 diners in a grand royal banquet showcasing Nigeria’s diverse cuisine, traditional etiquette, and storytelling.
At a pre-event briefing held in Abuja, top tourism officials, media experts, and food enthusiasts gathered to unveil the festival’s vision and program highlights. The organisers described ORIKI as a platform designed to project Nigeria’s gastronomy as a key driver of tourism and economic growth, while promoting the country’s image as a global destination for cultural experiences.
According to the organisers, the ORIKI Festival will go beyond dining to celebrate the essence of Nigerian royalty through food artistry, performance, and community engagement. It is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s soft power, attract international attention, and boost local participation in the hospitality and creative sectors.
