Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued 74 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) after they were ambushed by terrorists along a highway in Borno State.

The corps members were travelling to their various places of primary assignment when their convoy came under attack from armed insurgents. Troops of Operation Hadin Kai responded immediately, engaging the terrorists in a decisive counter-ambush.

Military sources confirmed that all 74 corps members were safely evacuated with no casualties recorded. The operation reflects the ongoing efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to strengthen national security and dismantle terrorist networks across the North-East.

Authorities have advised commuters to remain vigilant as troops continue enhanced patrols and clearance operations to secure major routes.
