Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has renewed his criticism of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, calling him “very irresponsible.” The attack comes shortly after Obasanjo publicly forgave Fayose, a gesture many had interpreted as an attempt to end their long-standing political rivalry.
Fayose rejected the forgiveness, insisting that Obasanjo’s previous remarks and actions remain unjustified. He highlighted the need for the former president to account for past controversies, including the funding of his presidential library and other decisions during his tenure, which Fayose says raise questions about accountability.
The former governor also accused Obasanjo of making statements that distract Nigerians from pressing national issues. Fayose’s latest remarks suggest that despite public gestures of reconciliation, tensions between the two political figures remain unresolved, underlining the enduring nature of their feud.
