VP Shettima Projects Nigeria’s Sanitation Economy to Reach $14.23 Billion by 2030

The Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, has projected that the country’s sanitation economy will grow to $14.23 billion by 2030, highlighting the sector’s potential as a major driver of economic growth, job creation, and public health improvement.

Speaking at a recent national forum on sanitation and waste management, VP Shettima emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing the sanitation sector, boosting investment, and promoting innovative solutions that will benefit communities across Nigeria. He noted that the growth of the sanitation economy aligns with broader national objectives to improve hygiene standards, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment.

The Vice President also stressed the importance of public-private partnerships and innovative financing in scaling up sanitation infrastructure and services. According to him, fostering collaboration between the government, private sector, and local communities will be critical in achieving the projected growth while ensuring equitable access to sanitation solutions for all Nigerians.
