
In a dramatic breakthrough, the Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a suspected organ trafficker and rescued three intended victims, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
The suspect, Maro Ebojoh, 40, from Delta State, was apprehended following a distress call at Alhaji Yahaya Sabo Motor Park on 17 November 2025, according to CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed.
Investigations revealed that Ebojoh arrived in Lafia on 14 November with plans to source potential kidney donors. Police allege he lured four individuals, promising each ₦2,000,000 for their organs. The victims were identified as Umar Ahmadu Barau (25), Suleiman Alhaji-Garba (20), Williams Dadung (32), and Stanley Ezekiel (27).
The victims were taken to a hospital for evaluation. One was later transferred to Abuja for a planned transplant, which was aborted due to health complications. Police confirmed the individual was rescued unharmed.
During interrogation, Ebojoh reportedly admitted receiving ₦500,000 in advance for a total fee of ₦6.5 million. Authorities say further investigations are ongoing and have urged the public to report any suspicious activities to prevent similar crimes.
