NCAA Orders Air Tanzania to Care for Stranded Passengers

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed Air Tanzania to provide hotel accommodation, meals, refunds, or rebooking options for passengers stranded in Dar es Salaam after their Lagos-bound flight was halted due to a technical fault.

NCAA spokesperson Michael Achimugu said the airline must also give passengers regular flight updates, in line with Nigeria’s 2023 aviation consumer protection rules.

He confirmed that Air Tanzania has since arranged hotel and meal support, while assuring passengers would be flown to Lagos despite the airline not typically operating weekend flights to Nigeria.

The NCAA said it will continue monitoring the situation until all passengers are safely transported. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
