Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for his decisive and hands-on leadership following the successful rescue of 38 abducted worshippers from Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
After several days of intense operations by security agencies and government officials, the abductees were freed on November 23. Governor AbdulRazaq expressed deep gratitude to President Tinubu, noting that the President’s personal involvement and direct coordination were instrumental to the successful rescue mission.
The Governor highlighted that President Tinubu had cancelled his trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa in order to focus on the security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States. The President also ordered increased security deployments to Kwara, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the safety and wellbeing of citizens.
Governor AbdulRazaq further appreciated the Office of the National Security Adviser; the Department of State Services (DSS); the Nigerian Army; the Nigeria Intelligence Agency; and the Nigeria Police Force, which deployed four additional tactical teams to the state on the President’s directive.
He also thanked security personnel, community leaders, religious bodies, and the people of Kwara for their support, cooperation, and prayers throughout the unfortunate incident.
