Ganduje to Security Agencies: Raise Lagos Airport Standards, Protect Nigeria’s Image

Share

Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Chairman, Dr. Umar Ganduje, has called on security agencies operating at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, to step up professionalism and stamp out corruption in order to safeguard Nigeria’s global image.

After inspecting airport facilities, Ganduje urged agencies such as Customs, Immigration, NDLEA, Police and DSS to improve coordination and deliver more efficient services to passengers. He warned that unprofessional conduct at the airport reflects poorly on the country.

He also highlighted infrastructure gaps, including abandoned projects and poorly maintained surroundings, and asked FAAN to prioritise funding to address them.

Despite these concerns, Ganduje praised recent upgrades like new scanners and automated e-gates, saying they position the airport closer to international standards.

He further stressed the need for cooperation among aviation stakeholders, noting that improved standards would boost investor confidence, attract more airlines and strengthen Nigeria’s economic outlook. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
