
The Kogi State Government held a solemn ceremony in Lokoja to mark the 10th anniversary of the passing of Prince Abubakar Audu, the state’s first civilian governor.
The well-attended event drew prominent dignitaries, including Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; and several former governors of the state.
During the ceremony, speakers paid glowing tributes to the late Prince Audu, emphasizing his lasting contributions to infrastructure, education, healthcare, and political development in Kogi State.
The memorial highlighted his pivotal role in laying the foundation for modern Kogi State during his tenure as governor from 1992–1993 and 1999–2003, celebrating his enduring legacy in the state’s growth and governance.
