Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Tuesday announced new leadership for four standing committees of the Senate during plenary. The changes form part of ongoing adjustments to strengthen legislative oversight across key sectors.

Under the new arrangement, Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South, will now chair the Committee on Livestock and Animal Husbandry. Senator Abdullahi Yahaya of Kebbi North has been appointed Chairman of the Committee on National Intelligence and National Security.

Akpabio also named Senator Osita Ngwu, representing Enugu West, as the acting Chairman of the Senate Committee on Air Force, following a minor reshuffle within the upper legislative chamber.
