The Lagos State Government has confirmed it is holding talks with a new investor to establish the state’s second private oil refinery.
The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Physical Planning, who said the project is part of ongoing efforts to attract major industrial investments into the state.
If approved, the facility would complement the Dangote Refinery in the Lekki Free Trade Zone and further boost Nigeria’s domestic fuel production. Officials say discussions are progressing positively, with more details expected once agreements are finalised.
The proposed refinery is expected to expand Lagos’ role in the nation’s energy sector and support the push to reduce reliance on imported petroleum products. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
