Spain have secured a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final after defeating France 2-0 in Tuesday’s semi-final at Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Mikel Oyarzabal gave Spain the lead in the 22nd minute, calmly converting a penalty after Lamine Yamal was fouled inside the box. Spain doubled their advantage in the 58th minute when Pedro Porro finished off a superb team move, with Dani Olmo providing the assist, to put La Roja firmly in control.
France, led by captain Kylian Mbappé, struggled to break down Spain’s disciplined defence despite creating several opportunities. Spain remained composed throughout the match to seal a deserved victory and end France’s hopes of reaching another World Cup final.
The victory sends Spain into the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, where they will face the winner of the second semi-final between Argentina and England. France will now compete in the third-place playoff. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
