President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every hardworking Nigerian has access to structured consumer credit designed to expand opportunity and improve living standards.

In his Democracy Day 2025 address, the President announced the phased rollout of YouthCred, a flagship programme of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP). The scheme will begin with NYSC members and gradually extend to all employed young Nigerians.

According to President Tinubu, the expansion of YouthCred reflects the growing demand for accessible credit and his administration’s determination to empower millions of youths through the country’s most affordable structured financing options.

With this rollout, the Federal Government has opened a major new pathway for youth credit access, strengthening its broader agenda of financial inclusion and shared prosperity.

Under the programme, Nigerians aged 18 to 39 can begin their YouthCred application by completing mandatory credit education and applying without the need for collateral via youthcred.com.
