Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has returned to South African Premier Soccer League side Chippa United, five months after leaving the club.

The 30-year-old was officially unveiled by Chippa United ahead of the 2026/27 season, marking a return to the club where he established himself as one of the league’s top goalkeepers.

Nwabali parted ways with Chippa United in February 2026 after both parties mutually agreed to terminate his contract. His return is expected to strengthen the club’s goalkeeping department while providing him with an opportunity to regain regular playing time.

The former Enyimba and Katsina United shot-stopper rose to international prominence following his outstanding performances for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles finished as runners-up.

His return to Chippa United is seen as a significant step in reviving his club career and boosting his chances of reclaiming the Super Eagles’ first-choice goalkeeper position ahead of upcoming international competitions. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
