The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has warned the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, not to take for granted the support being given to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Wike cautioned Basiru to be mindful of his public statements, stressing that political support should not be assumed or treated lightly. He said comments made by party leaders could have serious political consequences if not carefully weighed.

Speaking in strong terms, the former Rivers State governor also issued a warning against interference in Rivers State politics. He said Rivers was not a “no-go area” for him and insisted he could confront anyone over the state’s political affairs.

Wike added that he would relay his concerns to the President and other senior government officials, warning that anyone who “puts a hand into Rivers State politics should be ready for the consequences.”
