Nigeria sealed a dominant place in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a commanding 4–0 victory over Mozambique in the round of 16.
Ademola Lookman opened the scoring in the 20th minute, rifling a composed finish into the top corner after a perfectly weighted square pass from Akor Adams. Victor Osimhen then took control of the contest, scoring twice either side of half-time to put the Super Eagles firmly in charge.
Akor Adams capped an impressive all-round performance by netting his first goal of the tournament, smashing the ball past Ernan Siluane to complete the rout.
Nigeria will now turn their attention to Saturday’s quarter-final clash, where they will face either Algeria or DR Congo.
