A series of newly completed projects at the Borno State Government House Complex in Maiduguri were officially unveiled on Friday, as Vice President Kashim Shettima led the commissioning ceremony.

The projects, valued at billions of naira, include a presidential lodge, a modern Government House Clinic, a new Governor’s Office Complex, a protocol office, and a Jumaat mosque. The Vice President also joined Governor Babagana Zulum and other officials for the first Friday prayers held at the mosque.

During the visit, Shettima expressed satisfaction with the scale and quality of development within the complex, attributing the progress to the leadership of Governor Zulum. He noted that the projects reflect a strong commitment to governance and service delivery in the state.

The Government House Clinic, one of the key facilities inaugurated, is designed to provide healthcare services to over 2,000 staff and their families. According to the Chief Medical Director of the Borno State Hospital Management Board, Professor Abubakar Ali Kullima, the clinic is fully equipped with modern medical infrastructure, including surgical and diagnostic units.

He explained that the facility would help reduce the burden of seeking medical care outside the Government House, saving time and improving efficiency among staff. The clinic is also structured to handle short-term admissions, with arrangements in place for referrals where extended care is required.

The event drew the presence of several dignitaries, including ministers, lawmakers, traditional rulers, and senior government officials.
