Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has presented Senator Aliyu Wadada to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the state’s 2027 governorship election.

The presentation followed the conclusion of consultations within the party in Nasarawa State, where stakeholders reportedly narrowed the contest to select a consensus aspirant ahead of the upcoming election cycle.

Senator Wadada, who represents Nasarawa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, was earlier endorsed by Governor Sule as his preferred successor after extensive internal party engagements involving political stakeholders across the state.

During the meeting at the Villa, Governor Sule formally introduced Wadada to the President as the party’s agreed choice, signalling the APC’s early consolidation ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial race.

President Tinubu received the delegation at the State House, Abuja, as part of ongoing political consultations with party leaders and state governors across the federation.

Senator Wadada, a former member of the House of Representatives, returned to the APC after previously leaving the party during a period of internal disagreements.

The development is seen as a key step in shaping the political direction of Nasarawa State ahead of the next general elections.
