Prominent political figures, including Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Rotimi Amaechi, have criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over alleged claims of political superiority in the ongoing discussions surrounding the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ticket.

The reactions followed reports that Atiku positioned himself as the most qualified and experienced contender within the emerging opposition coalition seeking to challenge the ruling party in future elections.

Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, reportedly rejected any notion of hierarchy among political stakeholders, insisting that leadership within any coalition must be based on equity, mutual respect, and collective agreement rather than individual claims of dominance.

Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, also expressed concern over what he described as premature assertions of entitlement, warning that such attitudes could undermine unity efforts among opposition figures working to build a formidable alliance.

Other political stakeholders echoed similar sentiments, stressing that the success of any coalition under the ADC would depend on inclusiveness, internal democracy, and the willingness of all aspirants to submit to a transparent selection process.

The development highlights growing tensions within the opposition bloc as key actors continue consultations ahead of decisions on party alignment and presidential candidacy.
