The Federal Government has reaffirmed Nigeria’s strong diplomatic ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing support for the Gulf nation amid ongoing regional tensions while both countries moved to strengthen cooperation across critical sectors.

During high-level discussions between officials of the two nations, Nigeria praised Saudi Arabia’s continued support for educational development, particularly the scholarship programme for 50 Nigerian students at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

The government described the initiative as a significant step toward building skilled manpower in petroleum, mining, and other strategic industries vital to Nigeria’s economic growth.

Nigeria and Saudi Arabia also pledged to expand collaboration in trade, investment, education, and capacity development, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to implementing existing bilateral agreements and exploring new areas of partnership.
