


The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the traditional title Soniyako Nupe by the Etsu Nupe, Dr Yahaya Abubakar, in Bida, Niger State, on Saturday, 2nd May 2026.
The honour was bestowed in recognition of her contributions to national development, unity, and humanitarian service.
The ceremony attracted prominent dignitaries, including the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago, his deputy Yakubu Garba, and the Governor’s wife, Hajia Fatima Bago, alongside other traditional leaders.
The Etsu Nupe, Dr Yahaya Abubakar, described the title as a symbol of cultural recognition and appreciation for the First Lady’s service to humanity.
The event was marked by cultural display and is regarded as a moment of national and traditional significance.
