Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following Nigeria’s strengthened position within key international legal bodies, including its growing influence in global law reform discussions.

Speaking from the United Nations headquarters in New York, Ibrahim said Nigeria’s recent diplomatic progress reflects the Tinubu administration’s renewed engagement with multilateral institutions and its commitment to international law and governance reforms.

He highlighted Nigeria’s representation in the International Law Commission as a significant milestone, describing it as evidence that the country is “fully back” in active participation in global legal and diplomatic affairs.

According to him, the development aligns with President Tinubu’s broader diplomatic agenda aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s voice in global decision-making platforms, particularly in areas relating to international law, governance, and institutional reform.

Ibrahim noted that Nigeria’s domestic legal and institutional reforms are complementing its international engagements, helping to reposition the country as a more active player in global governance discussions.

He added that Nigeria’s growing visibility in international legal institutions reflects improved diplomatic coordination and a renewed focus on multilateral engagement under the current administration.

The envoy reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to supporting global legal development while ensuring that the country continues to benefit from international partnerships in law, governance, and economic development.
