FG, EU Launch €4.2m Initiative to Strengthen Disease Outbreak Response in Nigeria

The Federal Government has launched the EU Support to Public Health Institutes in Nigeria (EU SPIN), a €4.2 million programme funded by the European Union to enhance disease outbreak detection and emergency response systems across the country.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s capacity for early warning, surveillance, and rapid response to public health emergencies.

EU SPIN will be implemented by the World Health Organization (WHO) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, as part of efforts to improve national preparedness and health security.
