The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has joined the global community in marking the International Day of Families 2026, highlighting the central role families play in shaping societies and nurturing the next generation.

In a message to commemorate the day, she noted that the 2026 theme, “Families, Inequalities and Child Wellbeing,” draws urgent attention to the growing disparities that affect family stability and the development of children. She stressed that the wellbeing of every child is closely tied to the strength, security, and support systems available within families.

The First Lady called on stakeholders across the public and private sectors, civil society, and communities to collaborate in advancing family-centered initiatives that promote inclusion, equity, and sustainable development.

She further urged continued commitment to building stronger families and a more just society, where no child is left behind and every home serves as a foundation of love, values, and prosperity.

She wished Nigerians and the global community a happy International Day of Families.
