Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Rhodes-Vivour secured 12,948 votes in the party’s primary election to defeat his closest rival, Silas, who polled 6,183 votes in the exercise described by observers as peaceful and transparent.
Speaking after his victory, Rhodes-Vivour thanked party members and supporters for their confidence in his leadership, describing the outcome as a collective victory for the movement.
“This victory belongs to all of us who believe in a better future,” he said, while promising to continue pushing for accountable leadership and political transformation in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 polls.
The former Labour Party governorship candidate also reaffirmed his commitment to the ADC amid speculations over possible political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
