President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging citizens to embrace sacrifice, unity, compassion, and national renewal.

In his Eid message released on Tuesday, President Tinubu described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred festival that reflects the virtues of faith, obedience, and sacrifice as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

The President said the celebration serves as a reminder for Nigerians to show mercy and compassion to one another, regardless of ethnic, religious, or social differences.

Speaking on the state of the nation, Tinubu said his administration’s economic reforms, though difficult, were necessary to rebuild the country and secure a more prosperous future for coming generations.

According to him, the sacrifices made by Nigerians and the government over the past three years have begun to yield positive results, including a more stable economy and increased investor confidence capable of driving job creation and economic growth.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the President stated.

Tinubu also expressed confidence that ongoing reforms would continue to improve security and create greater opportunities for Nigerians.

While acknowledging persistent attacks by terrorists and bandits in some communities, the President assured citizens that the Federal Government remained committed to defeating insecurity across the country.

He commended the efforts of security and intelligence agencies, referencing the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, and assured affected communities that they had not been abandoned.

The President urged Muslims to use the Eid celebration to pray for peace, national unity, and wisdom for leaders, while also encouraging Nigerians to support the less privileged and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood.

Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development to fulfil the nation’s potential.

He concluded by wishing Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful, joyous, and blessed Eid al-Kabir celebration, praying for continued peace and progress in the country.
