Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared that he will not be excluded from the ballot in the forthcoming August 15, 2026 governorship election, expressing confidence that his party will participate fully in the poll.
Speaking at the official launch of his re-election campaign in Osogbo, Adeleke assured supporters that his party would remain on the ballot despite ongoing legal and political disputes surrounding the participation of some political parties in the election.
The governor stated that voters should remain confident and continue mobilising ahead of the election, insisting that their votes would count and that no attempt to undermine the democratic process would succeed.
Adeleke also urged residents of Osun State to remain steadfast in defending their democratic rights through peaceful participation in the electoral process. He expressed optimism about securing a fresh mandate from the electorate based on his administration’s record in office.
The governor’s remarks come amid heightened political activities and legal controversies ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. He maintained that neither intimidation nor political pressure would prevent his participation in the contest.
Adeleke concluded by calling on party members and supporters across the state to intensify grassroots mobilisation, expressing confidence that democracy and the rule of law would prevail.
