The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has described intervention and constituency projects as essential instruments for deepening the connection between government and citizens, saying they represent practical evidence of democratic governance and inclusive development.
She stated this during the unveiling of a compendium published by the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs titled “Actualising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Through the Implementation of Zonal Intervention and Constituency Projects.”
The publication, a 560-page document structured into nine chapters, is the first of its kind to comprehensively capture intervention projects implemented across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones and constituencies. It is aimed at promoting transparency, strengthening accountability, and improving public understanding of government-backed projects under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Represented by the Wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, the First Lady recalled her legislative experience in the National Assembly, noting that constituency projects have long served as effective tools for addressing grassroots needs.
She commended the Ministry for the initiative, saying the compendium provides a reliable reference point for tracking project implementation and assessing developmental impact across the country.
According to her, the documentation effort reflects the federal government’s commitment to transparency and its drive to ensure that development projects directly benefit citizens.
In his remarks, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, said the Ministry has adopted modern monitoring and evaluation systems to improve oversight of projects nationwide.
He added that the initiative supports effective delivery of the Renewed Hope Agenda through better coordination and accountability.
The event attracted government officials, development partners, and other stakeholders.
