The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, has directed the immediate strengthening of security measures around schools across Katsina State, as part of efforts to prevent attacks and ensure a safer learning environment for students and teachers.

According to police authorities, the directive was issued during an operational visit and conveyed to the Katsina State Police Command for urgent implementation. The order emphasizes increased police visibility and stronger coordination in and around educational institutions.

Under the new directive, the police are expected to intensify patrols around schools, improve intelligence gathering, and deploy additional personnel to vulnerable areas.
